On Wed evening, 18 Jun, the first MV showed up in the Dakota Territory Air Museum’s
parking lot. A M-332 Ammo Trailer was left in the lot as the first trucks started entering Minot.
By the time Saturday rolled in 62 MV’s graced the Museums grounds.
ND MVCA’s members brought in vehicles from all over the State, the oldest being John Novodvorsky’s 1917
Holt crawler, youngest was Rory Grenier and Stan’s 1986 MKT Trailer, smallest were 2 M-274 Mules and Largest was Greg
Blanchfield’s 5 Ton Bridge Truck. Members traveled from all over North Dakota and Canada.
Close to 500 visitors were treated to a huge variety of common and rare vehicles. ND-MVCA had a convoy run Saturday
afternoon, silent auction and meeting on Sunday.
The auction raised $723 on 42 items.
We sold over 49 Tee Shirts and 9 hats. We’re also pretty sure at least a few MV’s changed
hands plus numerous parts. Also added this year was a “Best in Show” award, voted upon by visitors.
First Place went to Dennis Sundby with his M-3 Halftrack, Second to Don Purpur and his 42 WLA Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Honorable mentions went to Tom Springer and his 43 DUKW and Norm Larson’s M-38A-1.
Sundays
meeting had 22 members attending. By Sunday afternoon the show closed with lots of phone number exchanges.
Everyone pitched in to break down the show, with Rory and Stan leaving the site around 2000 hrs.
ND-MVCA
President , Ken Yuly said the museum was ecstatic about the show and turnout. He said they didn’t
imagine so many unique and high quality MV’s existed in ND.
